Today, more than 50 years after its foundation, we can say that, when Lorenzo Banchero and Umberto Costa began their adventure in 1968, they already knew what the cornerstones of their business needed to be: discretion, professionalism and spirit of enterprise.

These three values became distinctive of the tradition and style of the banchero costa network, and we remain strongly committed to them today as the largest Italian organisation in the maritime brokerage sector and one of the main organisations internationally.

Lorenzo Banchero and Umberto Costa found banchero costa & c. s.p.a., which starts operating in dry cargo chartering, mainly with Italian clients.

1969

banchero costa & c. agenzia marittima s.p.a. starts operating in shipyard representation and ship towage & salvage broking business.

1969

sale & purchase department start operating.

1972

tanker chartering and a new team for research and studies start operating.

1975

banchero costa insurance broker s.p.a. starts operating in all major risks coverage business.

bancosta s.a., Geneva, starts operating mainly in dry cargo chartering.

1991

Januamar, Genoa, established and specialises in mediation and operation of small capacity dry cargo ships

1995

bancosta fn, starts operating and now provides corporations and financial institutions with a global and complete set of financial services, including advice on debt restructuring, project finance, equity underwriting in addition to consultancy services.

1997

bancosta liason office in Tokyo starts operating and follows the growing business with Japanese clients.
